Mark Beard has been in the construction industry since 1998. He started his own construction company in 2000 and then partnered with his long time friend Jeff in 2006. “I really enjoy working closely with the architects, engineers, and designers that we partner with for each project. There are few things that I haven’t seen in this industry in the last 18 years, but I am always excited for the new opportunities that this ever-changing industry has to offer. I am fortunate to say that after all these years, I still love what I do for a living”.

He is a father to 6 children from age 19 to 3 and has been married to his wife Heidi for 20 years. They have 5 girls and 1 boy (and no, he’s not number 6). Mark has been accused of being a people pleaser and is easy going. When he’s not on the job site he loves everything outdoors, from hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, and traveling the globe especially. However, He does NOT camp! He is very dedicated to healthy eating and gets dragged to yoga more times than he may like. He and his family do not like to sit still – they live a work hard, play hard, lifestyle.

Jeff took a much different path into the construction industry. His journey started with a tour in the Navy, and then a Degree in Accounting. He then became a Certified Public Accountant and worked at several local accounting firms, but his heart was in construction. Jeff and his wife would buy houses in their spare time and remodel them, doing much of the work themselves. After buying two homes and selling three in one year they realized this was becoming more than a hobby. So Jeff got a real estate license and talked his longtime friend “Mark” into building a new house with him.

As the son of a small business owner growing up in Oregon Jeff gained an appreciation for the rewards of owning your own business. It was these experiences that lead Jeff to leave his corporate job as a finance director for a fortune 500 and start Woodmark Homes, LLC with his longtime friend Mark Beard. When Jeff is not working he enjoys coaching softball, camping, and spending time with family.

Together, they are Woodmark Homes, an efficient, family-oriented, general contracting business. Through the years they have been involved in all aspects of construction, both residential and light commercial, but have always had a unique skill for remodeling, restoration, and additions.  Communication, teamwork, and on-site supervision of projects from beginning to end are just some of the keys to their success and your happiness. All of their construction projects are carefully planned, scheduled and financially managed in order to complete each one on time and on budget. Our high standards of craftsmanship combined with reliability and integrity yield a continuous list of satisfied clients.
